Gateway Estates/Berriman Park will provide recreational and passive green space for a new affordable housing community in East New York. Nancy Owens Studio developed the design in the context of the New York coastline and the Jamaica Bay ecosystem. Stormwater will be managed on-site through an integrated approach of surface and subgrade infiltration, following green infrastructure practices and traditional detention methods.
