It all began when the Miller's were invited to see their friends studio in Topanga Canyon. They instantly fell in love with the place. There were a few day use studios on the property but none of them were available. They started a dialogue with the owner and he encouraged them to build their own space with his materials. They initiated the task of clearing the site, cataloging the materials and beginning construction in the spring of 2011. (Mason St. Peter)
